Namiwa Jazz

Hailing from the West Midlands, Namiwa Jazz is a 23-year-old  singer-songwriter who speaks her truth, with a fearless lyrical approach to subjects that mean a lot to her. Whether singing with just a guitar accompaniment or her full band, her unique singing style is leaving music lovers feeling that once again, the world may see another great voice emerge from the region that amongst others, gave the world Joan Armatrading and Laura Mvula.
Surprising listeners with a voice and aura way beyond her 23 years she describes her sound as Afro-Twang.  Namiwa Jazz has supported the likes of Jacob Banks,  Ameriie, Lee Fields, Public Enemy, The Floacist (Floetry), Steel Pulse, Teedra Moses and Macka B and played 2017 BBC Cheltenham Jazz Festival in the Free stage.
With the release of Jazz’s third penned project 360 On Love, backing from BBC WM and receiving plays from DJ Trevor Nelson and HW Stevens, 2018 will see Namiwa Jazz coin the self-proclaimed genre; Afro-Twang as she blends Nu-soul, African Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B together.
Namiwa Jazz is recording with her band at present,  this year will see the release of her 4th body of work,  more UK and international festival and gig dates and more of the sound music bloggers are a calling incredible.
