One of the UK’s brightest young jazz talents, 26 year-old Matthew Halsall amazingly first picked up the trumpet 20 years ago. At 6 he was taken to a jazz gig by his parents and by the age of 14 he had started touring.
Halsall’s talents as a trumpeter, composer, arranger, DJ, and band leader have taken him all over the world from Europe, Australia, and the States to Russia, Malaysia and Singapore. His debut album Sending in Love received rave reviews and heavy airplay from the likes of Gilles Peterson, and the follow-up Colour Yes led to a sell-out show at Ronnie Scott’s.
